Hi friends!
June. School's out. Your cat has already found the new warm patch of sunlight. And outside — in rescues everywhere — kitten season is at its loudest.
There are more cats than space right now. Foster lists are closed. The kittens go fast and the adult cats just wait. June being Adopt-a-Cat Month is the official reminder of that. You can help by adopting, donating to a rescue, or even just sharing a listing for a cat you think deserves more eyes.
On that note — I've been tracking Give a Cat a Box numbers obsessively since the program's launch just a little over a month ago and couldn't be more thrilled! Over 140 scratcher boxes (and toys on top of that!) have shipped out to rescue organizations already! Full details coming up.
We've also got 14 cats celebrating birthdays and gotcha days this month, one very dignified Cat of the Month, and two announcements.

29 people!!!! I can't believe it! That's how many of you have donated via Give a Cat a Box since the program launched five weeks ago!!
In case you just joined the newsletter and haven't heard: Give a Cat a Box is a donation program that ships Hide & Scratch products directly to cat rescues and shelters. You pick a participating organization, choose a tier, and boxes and toys ship straight to the cats that can use them the most.

🐾 June Cat Holidays
It's Adopt-a-Cat Month — which I already mentioned, but it genuinely deserves the repeat. The shelters are overflowing, the kittens are everywhere, and the adult cats are the ones doing the waiting.
June 4 — Hug Your Cat Day
Respect your cat's boundaries on this one. Some cats are hug-adjacent. Some are emphatically not. A well-placed chin scratch usually lands, though.
June 18 — National Internet Cat Day
The internet was built for cats. We all know this. This is just the day we formally acknowledge that Grumpy Cat and Keyboard Cat laid the foundation for modern digital communication.
June 19 — National Garfield the Cat Day
The most famous orange tabby in the world turns another year older. Still hates Mondays. Still deserves a day.
June 22 — Take Your Cat to Work Day
If your cat already supervises your home office, congratulations — you've been participating for years. The rest of us are just catching up.
